Brief -
Cashmere Engineering and Electrical Co. was given a project and our brief was to soften up the atrium at Ara Institute of Canterbury. Our living wall had to be movable and create a point of interest in the given space.
Solution -
An image of our solution is above.
We began by designing a solution that incorporated well into the exiting space.
The component that we incorporated was a Kowhaiwhai we did this because Te Puna Wanaka building is in the Ara campus and a very significant Maori Building. We used hygiene grade stainless steel tube, this was done because our overall design was quite angular so we adjusted this effect by being conscious with our material choice.
